Josuma's Merthi Subbandudigy Estate - Cauvery (2024)
Josuma's Merthi Subbandudigy Estate - Cauvery (2024)
We are so excited to bring this coffee back! The last time Josuma could secure this lot was 5 years ago and we're still getting requests for it! It was an extremely popular coffee.
Flavor Notes: Varied citrus (orange, lemon & mandarin) w/ baking spice. We found with a City+ we're still getting some caramel.
This bold coffee will holds well to milk for an excellent single-origin latte or cappuccino. We recommend roasting just into the start of 2nd crack and letting it rest for at least 1 day.

The Cauvery variety from M.S. Estate has historically been a staple of Josuma's Plantation-A offerings. This year, they added a few bags of this experimentally processed lot. The estate used a proprietary processing technique (we've been asked to refer to as "special prep") designed to produce a cleaner bean with better clarity compared to traditionally washed coffees.
Originally a British plantation, Merthi Subbangudigy (more easily referred to as “M.S. Estate”) has been part of the Balanoor Plantations (owned by the Kuriyan family) since the 1930’s. Today, the estate is run by the fourth and fifth generation of the family, Ashok and his son Rohan.
Located in the Chikmagalur growing district, this farm has long supplied Josuma with washed Arabica. A sibling estate (Yelemadlu) supplies us with some of our best lots of washed Robusta (Kaapi Royale and Parchment-AB).
