While 'breakfast tea' has been popular since before the Brits colonized India, the term 'English Breakfast Tea' is more of an American invention.
We recommend preparing it with milk and sugar. For the full effect, serve with bacon and eggs.
(All teas are sold by the ounce. Choose the number of ounces you desire.) Be aware, an ounce of tea is a lot of tea, it's not all smashed up into bits and old as dirt like the stuff at the grocery store. And good quality tea can be re-steeped for additional pots. If you go for a pound of tea, 16 ounces, that is a LOT of tea. Figure 4 ounces will brew about 60 cups. One full 16-ounce pound will brew about 240 cups. Try not to buy more than you'll use within about 6 months. Sixty-four ounces? That's four pounds of tea.
