Cascara Coffee Cherry Tea (3 oz) Zoom

Cascara Coffee Cherry Tea (3 oz)

*This is sold in 3-ounce increments.* Depending on your preferred ratio when brewing 3 ounces is about 6 servings.
Cascara in Spanish means "husk" or "shell" and is used to describe the skin of the coffee fruit that has been removed during depulping and dried specifically for use as an infusion. Cascara is high in antioxidants and lower in caffeine per serving than coffee. Cascara can be brewed for hot or cold tea. You can use it for sodas and cocktails as well.
Flavor Notes: mellow cranberry, sweetened lemon, aged grape, and a mild plum after-taste.
Caffeine: Medium to High
Organics Tested to ensure it's food grade cascara and free of pathogens, debris, and other undesirables.
HOT:
We suggest brewing 14 grams by weight (which is roughly 1/2 cup if loosely poured into a measuring cup) of cascara with 12 ounces of water around 200°F (or just before boiling). Let them steep for about 6 minutes. Then filter out the cascara and drink. If you wish for it to be stronger then you can increase the steeping time, or adjust your rations. If you steep longer, don’t go more than 8 minutes for the right flavor profile. If you want it weaker you can lower the amount of cascara used, but we suggest not reducing the steeping time. The cascara is dried, so while it steeps they will soak up the water. So this ratio will make a single cup, around 6 to 9 ounces.
COLD:
For cold brewing, you can either use less water or increase the amount of Cascara. Take your concentrated liquid and then pour over ice to both flash-chill and dilute the tea. Another option is combining 30 grams of cascara with 360 grams of cold drinking water and letting it steep for 24 hours.
