Product Description

Yes, Hearthware after a two year absence reemerged with a run of these roasters in early 2011. For a number of reasons we're not going to carry them yet, if at all. In the meantime, buy an SR-500. SR500 roasters are a better value, quiet, and very easy to use.

------------

Here's some historical chatter from years past...
You already know that The Coffee Project doesn't carry every roaster out there just because they exist. So there's actually a relatively narrow field in which to choose the most effective, most easy to use, and most aggressively supported machines when it comes to customer service.

What that means to us is when one roaster goes missing from the line up it makes a significant absence of good choices. The next large shipment of I-Roasts and replacement part probably won’t be in until March 2010.

March 6 2010 ... No word from Hearthware about these roasters coming back in stock. It's approaching a year. Lets stop holding our breath and buy a Gene roaster instead. The IRoasts were pretty great as a machine, and while individuals at Hearthware were great to deal with - there has been an ongoing decline in valuable communication coming from the company for years. At one time these roasters set the bar in what was possible in home roasting, but that was then. Too bad.

With the absence of the I-Roast-2 from our line up and considering all the factors that matter in a great product here's where you should look to find your way to the machines that will bring you the most happiness:

The Fresh Roast Coffee Roaster: For an economical well-vetted roaster with a high degree of control, it's the best. Run two batches and you've got the a greater volume of beans as an I-Roast at a lesser cost.

The Gene Cafe: a high volume appliance, beautifully designed. High visibility of the beans and perfectly intuitive controls. Very easy to use.

The Behmor 1600: for large batches of beans and the benefit of honest to gosh smoke control in an affordable package. Also the only roaster that roasts well in colder ambient environments.

Each of these roasters are very quiet when running. And each has great service and support behind them.

...if you do buy an I-Roast in the meantime from another vendor, just email us a copy of your receipt dated after November 27th 2009, and we'll send you a discount code for a price break on beans from The Coffee Project.

How is the I-Roast-2 different than the ORIGINAL I-Roast? • The fit of the chaff collector is tighter • The chaff collector screen has been improved for a snug fit • A tighter seal is created between the base and the roasting chamber •Built in 10 memory function ! Save, recall, or delete curves • Two additional divisions for a total of five steps in your profiles.
