Under certain conditions you'll find that you can actually roast 8 ounce with this machine. Thats the same size batch as the Alpenröst roaster!

Roasting with a Caffe Rosto coffee roaster takes only 8-9 minutes for an American Roast. A Full City Roast is attained in 9-11 minutes, and a French Roast in 11-13 minutes. Overfilling or underfilling the measuring cup will change the roast time, so for the most consistant results, measure carefully!
 
Chaff is collected by two filters. The first is a coarse screen which collects most of the chaff, and the second is a finer screen that catches everything else.

What is chaff? Chaff is a light papery material that flakes off the beans as they roast. Just as with coffee grounds, chaff can go directly into your garden or houseplant soil without having to decompose first. Plants which like a little acidity (such as camillias or coffee trees!) will love it.
